While things tended to improve as Archie began to shadow his girlfriend's father, they appeared to worsen once more after the Lodge's won the mayoral election. There has always been tension between Hiram and Archie. Therefore, who's to say Archie or Veronica isn't next? Does Hiram Lodge have better things to do with his time than to plot revenge against his teenage daughter's boyfriend? After Cheryl seemingly joined earlier and Betty mulling over the possibility, it begs the question: Do the Serpents not have any protocol for who can or can't join? The Southside gang seems to be fine with just about anyone joining and wearing their jackets (as seen when all Riverdale High School students wore the gang's jackets in protest of Principal Weatherbee's decision to remove all Serpent members from the school). Will Betty join the serpents?īy the finale's end, Jughead asks Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) whether she'd be interested in becoming a member of the Serpents. However, this new story arc likely has something to do with Cheryl's romantic connection with Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan), who suggested that "maybe we should make it official" by having her join the local gang. This was a surprising turn for the character, who often denounced the Southside and its respective gang. So much so, viewers see Jughead help her into a red leather Serpent jacket-making her a member of the gang. Throughout Wednesday's episode, Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) cozies up to the Serpents. Did Cheryl really become a member of the Serpents gang? He agreed, but in what universe would any person under 21 years of age be able to seamlessly purchase a nightclub? None, but that's Riverdale logic for you. She bought the speakeasy-dubbed the Worm- to get her father, Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos), to exchange it for Pop's Chock'Lit Shoppe. Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) managed to legally buy a speakeasy-as a teenager-like Chuck Bass did on Gossip Girl. How is Veronica legally allowed to purchase a speakeasy? Jughead suggested the lie was a "ploy" to lure the Southside Serpents into a fight they had no chance of winning. Although a deputy called FP to share the status of Fangs' life, he apparently lied. However, FP Jones (Skeet Ulrich) confirmed to an also not-so-dead Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) that Fangs, too, was alive.
Realistically, the likelihood he'd survive such a shot is slim. In the May 9 episode "Shadow of a Doubt," fans endured another Riverdale death when Fangs Fogarty (Drew Ray Tanner) was wounded after Midge's mother shot him to death-or so they thought.
